GM OBD II Integrated Processor V2.0

The GM Integrated Processor OBD II PN5929 controls alternate fuel delivery on air valve carburetion
by monitoring the oxygen sensor, RPM, and injector signals. The Integrated Processor uses these
levels to modulate the reference pressure of the alternate fuel regulator through the Fuel Control Valve
(FCV). The Integrated Processor will maintain a stoichiometric air/fuel ratio while still allowing the
regulator to properly respond to high fuel demands at acceleration and high RPM. Maintaining fuel
control significantly reduces emissions, improves fuel economy, and vehicle performance.
TIMING ADVANCE
The GM Integrated Processor OBD II PN5929 provides ignition timing advance by modifying the
Manifold Absolute Pressure signal. Advancing the timing compensates for the higher octane, slower
burning characteristics of alternate fuels. Timing advance improves alternate fuel engine performance,
fuel mileage, and reduces the possibilities of backfires.
OEM DIAGNOSTIC INTERFACE
The GM Integrated Processor OBD II PN5929 provides computer diagnostics for alternate fuel
operation, while still preserving the OEM computer diagnostic abilities. The Integrated Processor interfaces
with components related to fuel trim diagnostics such as gasoline injector control, oxygen sensor
levels, manifold pressure, and serial data class II. These signals are monitored in order to maintain the
appropriate parameters to prevent the OEM computer from sending false Diagnostic Trouble Codes
(DTC), shifting the gasoline fuel map, and illuminating the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL). In the event
that any of these parameters deviate from proper operating range the Integrated Processor will signal
the OEM computer to store the proper code and illuminate the MIL when actually necessary.
